Customer Refer-a-Friend Program
customer "refer a friend" program pays your customers $40 if they refer a sale to us. It also pays you a $20 override on each of their sales (* the sale must be an activated and shipped wireless product on a new 2yr account with any major wireless carrier. No upgrades, pay-as-you-go, prepaid, or other products count).
We setup a special website called "cellphone40.com" to support the refer-a-friend program. We also created a special tracking account which is identified by affiliate ID "54" (AID=54). Following is a description of how the program works and how you get credited for override commissions on your customers' referrals.
Let's say on August 15 you acquire a customer named Mary who orders a new phone, gets approved, and receives it shortly thereafter. Around September 20 (about 30+ days after her order) we'll email Mary and tell her that she can earn $40 just by referring a new customer sale to us (subject to rules which basically state that her referrals must have a cell phone shipped and activated on a post-paid calling plan with new 2yr contract). In the email we send to Mary, we instruct her to tell her friends to visit a website called "cellphone40.com" and enter a coupon code (which happens to be Mary's order number when she placed her order back in August). If her friends do not enter a valid coupon code, then they cannot enter the site. This prevents loss of tracking of sales back to you.
Let's say Mary referred a friend named Jenny, who went to cellphone40.com and entered the coupon code correctly. After she enters the coupon code and presses "Submit", she is then redirected to the tmiwireless.com home page. She places an order for a new phone, gets approved, and receives her phone in the mail. Mary is now eligible to receive $40 for referring Jenny, and you are eligible to receive $20 as an override commission on Mary's sale. Being "eligible" just means that you both have earned a commission as long as Jenny does not decide to return her phone.

Technical Details
When Jenny is redirected to the tmiWireless.com home page, we pass along an "AID" value of "54" and a "ref" value that contains the coupon code. Example: www.tmiwireless.com/?aid=54&ref=123456789 (where "123456789" was Mary's original order number).
Why we use AID 54 and not your AID: You might be thinking (and understandably so) "Hey, that's not my affiliate ID! Who's going to get credit for that sale? Who is AID 54?". The reason we use "AID=54" is because this is a special ID that our system recognizes as a "refer-a-friend" sale. We need to know that the sale is coming through the "refer-a-friend" system in order for us to tag the sale with the referring customer's (Mary's) information (so that they can get the $40 referral bonus). In this case, the referring customer is Mary. She is going to get a $40 check if her friend Jenny orders a phone (and it ships), and you are going to get a check for $20 (the override) since you referred Mary to us. The "ref=123456789" is what we use to track the sale back to you (since Mary's order number "123456789" was already assigned to your affiliate account). Further, we use the order number to retrieve Mary's mailing address information so that we know where to mail her the $40 referral check.
Mary now becomes a special type of sub-affiliate to you: Each day, our system looks for orders that have AID=54. When the system finds one of these orders, it automatically creates a special mini-affiliate account for the referring customer (ie., Mary). It also assigns this mini-affiliate to your affiliate account as one of your sub-affiliates. But Mary is a special sub-affiliate account because you earn a $20 override on her sales instead of the usual $10 override on regular sub-affiliate sales. It is also a special sub-affiliate account because Mary does not have an affiliate login since she is really just a customer who referred a friend.

Getting paid
When you get paid: Basically, each month at the same time that we cut affiliate checks, we include any $20 override to you for any refer-a-friend sales that your customers generate for you. Mary would also be paid her $40 referral check at this time. She only receives a check if Jenny orders a cell phone activated on a new 2yr "post-paid" contract with a major carrier. No upgrades, prepaid sales, or other sales qualify for this program and this is all spelled out in the email we send to Mary.

How to opt-out of the program
If you do not want us to follow up with your customers and attempt to generate referrals, please contact us via the support form and indicate as such. We will then add your affiliate ID to an internal "do not contact my customers" list which will prevent our system from emailing your customers.
